The wooden Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Consoler of the Afflicted of folk architecture was relocated in 1857 from Pašušvis. The relocation of the church was handled by Teodora Butlerytė – Pilsudska, the grandmother of the Polish Marshal J. Pilsudskis. She was buried in the churchyard. Right after her marriage, she lived with her family in her hometown of Repšėnai. Later, she moved to Pašušvis, in Kėdainiai District, where she took care of her husband's widow aunt. As the landlady of Pašušvis, she funded the constructions of Pajieslys Church. In 1863, she was consecrated, but did not receive the permission from tsarist Russian authorities to hold services after the Uprising was repressed. In 1885, when she was already 74 years old, she participated in a pilgrimage walk from Kaunas to Vilnius and walked through the entire path by foot. She died on 5 October 1886. Her wish to be buried near her husband in Krakiai cemetery remained unfulfilled, as the cemetery was prepared to be liquidated at the time. Therefore, the grave of T. Pilsudska was formed in an honorable place in front of the central doors of Pajieslys Church built by her.
