The first wooden church in Labūnava was built in 1799 by the landowner Ignotas Zabiela. After it burned down in 1812, a new church was soon built by Anupras Zabiela, heir of the Labūnava estate. In 1855, the parishioners, together with priest J. Normantas, constructed a new masonry church. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during World War II.
Since 1945, the parish church has been housed in the Zabielai Mausoleum Chapel, built in 1859. The central building is circular in plan, with a dome approximately 10 meters in diameter. It is a unique local architectural monument in the Classicism style.
