Cucumber fest

One of the first gastronomic festivals in Lithuania CUCUMBER FESTIVAL will take place on July 13h.

Kėdainiai is often referred to as the "capital of cucumbers". Land is particularly suitable for growing cucumbers and citizens of Kėdainiai have been engaged in this business for several centuries (nowadays less). Jews were the first to start raising cucumbers in large quantities in the 19th century. They used to transport cucumbers by train to Latvia.

Cucumber is one of the most popular vegetables in Lithuania, there are many recipes and ways to use them in the kitchen. During the festival, you will taste different meals made of cucumbers.

From 12.00 there will be a fair of foods and handicrafts in the town park
From 5pm there will be stands cucumber meals and decorations
At 5 pm a gastronomic lecture by Vytaras Radzevičius
At 7 pm a concert
