The first wooden church in Krakės was built in the middle of the 15th century. The current brick church was built in 1897–1908. St. Matthew's Church has neo-gothic and neo-baroque features, and is cross-plan with a three-sided apse and a tall tower. Folk artist Vytautas Ulevičius lives in Krakės. His homestead has an exposition of his works, where a tour can be booked. Krakės also has St. Catherine's Monastery whose history dates back to the beginning of the 17th century.
