There are 29 historical streets in Kėdainiai. Some of them are straight, while others are curved and twisted. Straight streets were planned in the beginning of the 17th century. The magistrate took care that brick houses are built and streets are laid in the town. Under the order of Jonušas Radvila, each person entering Kėdainiai had to bring a stone. Didžioji (Great) Street is one of only a few that preserved its archaic curved line. Today, part of Didžioji Street is used by pedestrians and has various brand stores, restaurants, cafes, hotels, museums and souvenir shops.
