The mound is formed on the hillock situated on the left banks of Kruostas River and its inflow Virškaučius. The mound is heavily damaged – there was a village cemetery in the past (a wooden cross was built to commemorate the cemetery), farming activities are carried out around the mound and its slopes are overgrown with trees. It is believed that soldiers were burried in the mound. The mound dates back to the I millennium– beginning of the II millenium. There is a small cemetery of Old Believers on the way towards the mound.
