Mounds
Ambraziūnai Mound
The mound is established in the shore cape in the junction point of Šušvė and Šakė Rivers.
Bakainiai Mound
Bakainiai Mound Complex, consisting of a castle hill with two fore-works and defensive ramparts, is one of the largest mounds in our district providing beautiful views of nature.
Kalnaberžė Mound (Hillfort)
Mounds, or hillforts, are the best known and the most beautiful archaeological monuments in Lithuania. Their total number approaches one thousand. Lithuania has more hillforts than our neighbouring countries.
Lomeikiškiai Mound (Hillfort) or Krasauskas Hill
It is an archeological monument of regional importance.
Pilioniai Mound
After passing Pilioniai village, there is a mound on the left side of the road, called Švedkapis or Piliukas.
Pilsupiai Mound (Bakanas)
Studies have shown that there was a foot settlement 1 km to the north from the mound, where smooth surface molded ceramics were discovered. The mound dates back to the I millennium– beginning of the II millenium.
Plinkaigalis Mound
The Mound was formed on a hillock, on the left shore of Šušvė River, at the river junction with Žiedupė.
Sangailai Mound
It is one of the most impressive mounds in Kėdainiai District. Its clear contours and two ramparts can be observed to this day.
