55 oak sculptures made by the well-known sculptor Vytautas Ulevičius are exhibited here on the subjects of history, mythology, religion, nature and work. His works reflect the Lithuanian culture with a stylistic expression typical only to the author. The artist's inspiration comes from traditional Lithuanian folk art and national culture. According to the critics, "not many artists are able to control material, form, rhythm and line as Vytautas does". His homestead in Krakės (Kėdainiai District) looks like a museum, the surroundings are decorated with his works, and his home is full of wood carvings. Each year, the artist's homestead is visited by a number of foreign visitors from many corners of the world. Excursions also arrive. Kėdainiai region is decorated with around thirty oak artworks. The artist continuously takes part in international, national and local exhibitions and has been awarded several times. He has hosted over 100 exhibitions.
Vytautas Ulevičius became the laureate of Kėdainiai District Culture Prize, and has been nominated as the Master of Masters of wood carvers two times, as well as won many other significant awards in the continuosuly organized national wood carver events.
In 2022, Vytautas Ulevičius was awarded the National Culture and Art PRIZE by the GOVERNMENT of the Republic of Lithuania for siginificant contribution and outstanding merits to Lithuanian culture and arts and was granted the name of the CITIZEN OF HONOUR OF KĖDAINIAI DISTRICT.
